Binge Eating Questionnaire

     Binge eating is a serious problem that affects an estimated one-third of individuals who are overweight. Binge Eating Disorder can pose a significant barrier to weight loss if not properly diagnosed and treated. Dr. Carlos Grilo of Yale University compiled the following questions to help determine whether a person may have a problem with binge eating. Only a trained professional can make a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder.

     Directions: For each question, select the answer that best describes your response for the last six months. After all questions have been answered, your score will be provided. To obtain your total score, select "Calculate" at the end of the questionnaire.

   I sometimes feel that I eat too much during particular eating episodes.
   I sometimes eat within a two-hour period what I and most people would consider an unusually large amount of food..
